The Omaha Deal

Omaha is a more complicated game when compared to Texas Holdem however they have same structure for the flop, turn and river. Also, they both have five community cards to be dealt face up on the board, it is just that Omaha does have four hole cards to be dealt to players instead of two.

Yes, Omaha also does have flop, turn and river. In fact, they still lead to betting rounds. The first to take place is of course the first betting round which should happen before the flop. Then the next is the second betting round on the flop. After which is the third betting round on the turn. And finally the fourth betting round on the river. The last betting round should lead to the showdown where all remaining players must show their hands to reveal who is the winner.

Of course, Omaha also uses a button which is the dealer and has a big blind and a small blind. Also, it requires that the first player to make a decision in the hand is the player to the left of the big blind and for the subsequent rounds is already the player to the left of the button.

If you have already played Texas Holdem, or else maybe we could say, if you’ve been playing Texas Holdem, you may just find Omaha easy and simple and almost like your game when you finally play it. It shares the same basics with your game. Most likely, you just have to adjust a little when making the best five-card hand. Naturally, instead of two hole cards you will have four and two out of these four must be used no matter what happens. It will be challenging. However, if you are well-familiar of the hand rankings, you will get over it for sure.
