Seven-Card Stud Hi Lo is one of the best poker varieties, thus choosing it as variety to play is actually something that is worth doing. However, being a split-type variety, it is indeed not easy to beat. Generally, it is challenging to beat but of course it is beatable.
In a split-type variety just like Seven-Card Stud Hi Lo, pot can be divided into two – low side and high side. The low side is for the winner who has the best Seven-Card Stud Hi Lo low hand and the high side is for the winner who has the best Seven-Card Stud Hi Lo high hand. Yes, there are can be two winners. To actually beat such split-type variety, there should be “scooping” of the pot. It just means not just going for one side of the pot but for both sides of the pot, go for the entire pot.
When only one side of the pot is chosen to vie for, others are then just placed ahead from where they have started playing a certain hand. Thus, it is better to go for both sides of the pot, go for the entire pot. However, “scooping” the pot may just be quite challenging, best winning hands must be played without delay.
So to actually “scoop” the pot, every move must be made fast. Cards must be checked and then if only two or less different cards can be seen as there may be pairs, getting the best Seven-Card Stud Hi Lo high hand must be pursued. It is not right to consider getting the best Seven-Card Stud Hi Lo low hand when there are only two or less low different cards that can be seen. It will just take an early wise move to be able to take home entire pot.
